Recycling Nanowires

Nanowires are commonly used in electronics and they can be costly to produce. Not only that, but they can add to the waste in landfills from unrecycled electronics. Researchers have found that they are able to remove the nanowires, which contain noble and rare-earth elements, from other electronics and repurpose them in new electronics. To make the process easier, they have found a way to create devices with parts that can be dissolved in a solvent to easily retrieve the nanowires without damaging them.
