If you want a selection of affordable Asian snacks as well as home-goods, this should be a go to place. Made in New York City in 1971, this store is America’s #1 Chinese department store. It was made by Taiwanese graduates with a group of political activists as at that time it was banned to trade with China. Yet they still made this store in hopes to promote their food and culture to the community. Now their merchandise has greatly expanded and still continues to promote other Asian American artisans and entrepreneurs.
